It's such a small market, but a delight. You can buy fish, vegetables and hams here.

There are only a few types of fish to choose from in this little shop, fresh fish or seafood. Perfect for a night out with spaghetti and ketchup or a barbecue.

Market right in the city center. During the day it is possible to shop normally. After lunch, a food hall with restaurants and bars opens upstairs.

Street food in Italian. The best food for a fiver you've ever eaten. You can choose from pre-made versions, or you can make your own schiacciata.

Small restaurants and bars. Food and drink is quite cheap. I was expecting it to cost a fortune because of the tourists, but the prices were cheaper than here.

Have a little snack. Fried potato and cod pie with port wine. It's pretty good. We've been really wandering around downtown without any destination. They have a pretty nice old train station otherwise.

I'd say it was one of the better restaurants we've been to in Portuguese towns. If you're in the mood for a fish, I highly recommend it. We were there for dinner with our neighbors from the trailer next door.

I'm just putting this point here for reference, so you can get your bearings on where the historic center is. There are lots of little streets, squares, the cathedral and smaller parks. Cafes, bars and restaurants I don't need to mention. You can even buy a new gucci handbag there.

LX Factory is a great project. They converted an old factory into a coworking space, stylish cafes, restaurants, exhibition space and product stores. A project similar to Tabačka in Košice. Definitely go there. Have a coffee or buy an unusual gift that wasn't made in China. Photo gallery
