The biggest crowd in the campsites is still during the high season. That’s why we mostly travel in the summer only locally around the surrounding area. If you don’t have school-age children, you’d better go motorhoming in September. Everything will cost less, there will be less people everywhere and the weather is still great.
“There’s a special card in Europe that lets you save up to 60% off-season prices at campsites”
Special card for motorhomers
This card is called the CampingCard ACSI. It is bought once a year and costs about 20 euros. The card includes booklets and access to the CampingCard ACSI mobile app.
How does it all work?
There are more than 3,000 campsites in Europe in the ACSI discount programme. You present your card at the entrance to the campsite and you automatically get a discount. The price per night at these campsites ranges from €12 to €20 per night. You can find out the price in advance via the mobile app or in the printed booklet.
So if you want to visit nice campsites at a lower price, go out of season and use your ACSI card. It’s worth it. We’ve used the ASCI card in the past too and bought it every year.
