There are 2 types of fridges that are most often installed in motorhomes: a gas fridge, which also runs on 12V or 230V, and an electric fridge, which only runs on 12V. Each type of fridge has the possibility of adjusting the cooling intensity. There are countless models of refrigerators with controls either directly on the refrigerator or on the control panel of the motorhome.
Switching on the refrigerator
- If the refrigerator has a control panel directly on it, press and hold the refrigerator on button – the ring with the vertical line.
- If the refrigerator has a control panel, locate the refrigerator on the control panel. It is most often depicted by a snowflake. Switch the settings to ON.
Adjusting the cooling intensity
- If the refrigerator has a control panel directly on it, press the button depicting a thermometer to adjust the intensity. The cooling intensity is displayed on the cooling indicator by means of lines.
- If the refrigerator is operated using the control panel, locate the refrigerator on the control panel. is most often depicted by a snowflake. Use the + and – buttons to adjust the intensity. The intensity is graphically depicted by means of lines.
Switch between refrigerator mode gas, 12V, 230V
These instructions only apply to a gas refrigerator that operates on 12V or 230V. Such fridges are most commonly used in all motorhomes today.
- The button with the electrical plug is used to switch to 230V mode. This mode is only used when connected at the campsite to the electricity connection.
- The button with a picture of burning gas is used to switch the fridge to gas mode. This mode is only used when the motorhome is stationary, i.e. not when driving. The refrigerator can only be used while driving if you have the Crash Sensor installed. If you want to use the fridge on gas, make sure the gas inlet is open.
- The button with the picture of the car battery is used to switch the refrigerator to 12V. This mode is used while driving.
- Some types of fridges also have an auto mode, this means that they switch between gas, 12V and 230V automatically. There is therefore no need to transfer the fridge to 12V before driving. The fridge will also automatically switch when the power cable is connected to 230V.
